About Our Specialized Dialysis Unit

The Dialysis Unit at Shilmoon Specialized Hospital is a premier clinical facility dedicated to providing safe, comfortable, and highly effective hemodialysis services. Operating 24/7, we cater to patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) as well as end-stage renal disease (ESRD).

Our unit is powered by an advanced double-pass Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification system. This system strictly meets international standards, producing ultrapure dialysate water that is entirely sterile and free from chemical toxins, ensuring maximum patient safety and minimal post-dialysis complications.

We offer standard hemodialysis as well as Sustained Low-Efficiency Daily Diafiltration (SLED) for critically ill patients inside our ICU. Each session is supervised by senior nephrologists, dialysis medical officers, and experienced dialysis technicians who guide patients through their care.

How long does a standard dialysis session take?

A typical hemodialysis session takes approximately 4 hours, during which the patient's blood is filtered to remove metabolic toxins and excess fluid.

Is dialysis painful?

The dialysis process itself is not painful. Patients may feel a minor pinch during the needle insertion for vascular access, but the treatment is generally comfortable.

Do I need to book my dialysis sessions in advance?

For chronic patients, we schedule sessions in regular weekly slots. For acute emergencies, our unit is ready to accept patients immediately 24/7.
